It is the top international multi-sport sporting event organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) every four years. They are organized in two categories: summer and winter Olympic Games. Thousands of athletes compete in hundreds of sports. The Olympic games are symbolized by the Latin words “citius, altius, fortius”, meaning “faster, higher, stronger”, and by the flag consisting of five intertwined rings of different colors. It was stated that the 5 different colors, which were initially stated to symbolize the continents, symbolize the flag colors of the countries participating in the Olympic Games. In addition, the Paralympic Games (in which disabled athletes participate) and the Youth Olympics (in which athletes between the ages of 14 and 18 participate) are also organised.

Uluslararası Olimpiyat Komitesi (UOK) tarafından her dört yılda bir düzenlenen, çok sporlu, uluslararası en üst düzey spor organizasyonudur. Yaz ve kış olimpiyat oyunları olarak iki kategoride düzenlenir. Binlerce sporcu, yüzlerce spor dalında mücadele eder. Olimpiyat oyunları, “daha hızlı, daha yüksek, daha güçlü” anlamına gelen Latince “citius, altius, fortius” sözcükleriyle ve farklı renkten iç içe geçmiş beş halkadan oluşan bayrakla simgelenir. Başlangıçta kıtaları simgelediği belirtilen 5 farklı rengin olimpiyat oyunlarına katılan ülkelerin bayrak renklerini simgelediği belirtilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra paralimpik oyunlar (engelli sporcuların katıldığı) ve gençlik olimpiyatı (14-18 yaş arası sporcuların katıldığı) organizasyonlarda yapılmaktadır.

La più importante manifestazione sportiva internazionale multidisciplinare, organizzata ogni quattro anni dal Comitato Olimpico Internazionale (CIO). Si divide in due categorie: giochi olimpici estivi e invernali. Migliaia di atleti competono in centinaia di discipline sportive. I giochi olimpici sono simboleggiati dal motto latino "citius, altius, fortius", che significa "più veloce, più alto, più forte", e dalla bandiera con cinque anelli intrecciati di colori diversi. Inizialmente si diceva che i 5 colori rappresentassero i continenti, successivamente si è affermato che rappresentano i colori delle bandiere dei paesi partecipanti. Inoltre, si svolgono anche i giochi paralimpici (per atleti con disabilità) e le olimpiadi giovanili (per atleti tra i 14 e i 18 anni).
