Nobody is allowed to object to the decisions of the first referee in a volleyball competition. Team captains may ask the referee for clarification on the rule and its interpretation. If the captain does not accept the first referee's statement, the captain shall write the objection in the minutes at the end of the match, declaring that they reserve the right to record their objection to the decision at the end of the match. The exception to this is the video challenge request, which is applied in some competitions.

Voleybol müsabakasında başhakemin kararlarına itiraz edilemez. Takım kaptanları tarafından, başhakemden kural ve yorumuyla ilgili açıklama istenebilir. Kaptan, başhakemin açıklamasını kabul etmezse karara itirazını maç sonunda kayda geçirme hakkını saklı tuttuğunu beyan ederek müsabaka bitiminde tutanağa itirazını yazar. Bunun istisnası, bazı müsabakalarda uygulanan görüntülü değerlendirme (video challenge) talebidir.
protesta (🇮🇹)
Nelle partite di pallavolo, non si può protestare contro le decisioni dell'arbitro principale. I capitani delle squadre possono chiedere all'arbitro principale chiarimenti sulle regole e la loro interpretazione. Se il capitano non accetta la spiegazione dell'arbitro principale, può dichiarare di riservarsi il diritto di registrare la sua protesta alla fine della partita e scrivere la sua protesta nel verbale al termine della partita. L'eccezione a questo è la richiesta di revisione video (video challenge) applicata in alcune partite.
